A new company has hit the Kenyan internet information scene offering products different from the current ones on offer.

Infotrack East Africa Ltd was incorporated in July 2008. The company promises to provide researched and well packaged information through its web site infotrackea.co.ke to assist users of the information in their day to day decision making. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Dr. JC Mugachia, says the company will initially operate in Kenya and the East African Region but will in the long term operate in various countries in Africa.

According to the Infortrack East Africa Ltd CEO, the idea of the establishment of an information website with a difference was inspired by the small number of websites with well packaged and readily usable local content. Infotrackea.co.ke intends to be a one stop shop for information for users interested in African content or international content with impact on Africa.

The objective of infotrackea.co.ke is to inform and empower the website visitors and other users of the information provided in their decision making on various issues. There is for instance a sub domain on leadership and governance monitoring where Kenyan people will be able to determine if their leaders are working well for them. Such information would help Kenyans in advocating their leaders to do more. It would also help the electorate decide which leaders should be re-elected in future. A section on education is aimed at assisting users to choose education courses and institutions offering the courses.

Infotrackea.co.ke will also offer opportunities for small businesses without the resources to establish and maintain websites to place their businesses on the internet using “Homing pages”. These are pages that look like the home pages of the businesses but are actually hosted on www.infotrackea.co.ke.
